“We should consider that 95 percent of human history was pre-patriarchal. Perhaps we should just declare the last 5 percent an experiment that failed. The problem is that we read only about that 5 percent of history at the most. We only go back usually a few centuries or at most a couple thousand years because patriarchal scholarship declares the rest to be pre-history. I think that’s a political label. It is a way of keeping us from knowing what existed for 95 percent of the time humans have been on earth.”
