Premier: John McBain (website) |  johnmcbainmusic.com
John McBain was a guitarist for Monster Magnet & Wellwater Conspiracy in the early and mid-90’s. After leaving Monster Magnet, McBain created the group Hater with Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), Ben Shepherd (Soundgarden) and Brian Wood (brother of Mother Love Bone vocalist Andrew Wood). In 1997 McBain participated in the first Desert Sessions, a musical project lead by Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age; that year he also created Wellwater Conspiracy with Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd.
John moved to San Francisco in 2004 and released his first solo project, The In-Flight Feature in 2006. He is currently fine-tuning a follow-up release. For more information on this project, check out his blog updates on johnmcbainmusic.com.
McBain wanted something simple and easy to use. His graphic approach was fairly straight-forward. He described a mad scientist with yellow aviator shades. Perhaps an alien autopsy?
No problem.
